Your instructor was called to the Ontario bar in 2015 and has spent more than ten years in real estate practice, acting on the transactions this course works through. It is taught that way on purpose: the real estate material rewards understanding how a deal actually works, rather than memorizing definitions.
The course works through the same agreements, title searches and closing statements you will see in practice, until the material reads as obvious.
Every year candidates say the same thing: the real estate material felt like a different language. Not because the concepts are difficult, but because it assumes you have seen a transaction close, and most candidates never have. Ten hours is enough to walk through a purchase from the agreement to the keys, slowly, with someone who does it for a living.
